International Congresses of Dipterology

Current Honorary Members

There are currently seven Honorary Members of the International Congresses of Dipterology. The Constitution allows for a maximum of ten Honorary Members, and their appointments are for life. According to Article X of the Constitution, "Honorary Members shall be elected from among dipterists who have made outstanding contributions to dipterological knowledge, who have influenced dipterology substantially both within and outside their own countries or regions, and who have made important contributions to the International Congresses of Dipterology." Three new Honorary Members were elected during ICD7 in San José (2010): Drs. Fan Zi-de, Emilia P. Nartshuk and F. Christian Thompson.
