Genus Deopalpus Townsend, 1908

DEOPALPUS Townsend, 1908: 110. Type species: Deopalpus hirsutus Townsend, 1908, by original designation.
SPANIPALPUS Townsend, 1908: 110 (also subsequently spelled Spanipalpis, in error). Type species: Trichophora miscelli Coquillett, 1897, by monotypy.

californiensis (Macquart, 1851).– California, unrecognized species (S&A, 1965). Note: The type of californiensis in BMNH should be studied to determine whether this species belongs in Peleteria or Deopalpus.
