CHRYSOMASICERA Townsend, 1915m: 230. Type species: Chrysomasicera borealis Townsend, 1915 (= Exorista ochracea van der Wulp, 1890), by original designation.

Type data: syntypes, 2 males, 4 females and 1 damaged specimen with only thorax remaining (BMNH) (no specimen(s) from Costa Rica so part of type series apparently lost). Type localities: Costa Rica (Rio Sucio) and Mexico (Amula, Xucumanatlan and Omilteme in Guerrero, Atoyac in Veracruz, and Teapa in Tabasco).
– Chrysomasicera borealis Townsend, 1915m: 230. Type data: holotype male (USNM). Type locality: USA, New Mexico, above Beulah, top of Las Vegas Range.
