Genus ERIOTHRIX Meigen, 1803

ERIOTHRIX Meigen, 1803: 279. Type species: Musca lateralis Fabricius, 1775 (= Musca rufomaculata De Geer, 1776; lateralis Fabricius is a junior homonym of Musca lateralis Linnaeus, 1758), by monotypy [Palearctic].
PYRAUSTOMYIA Townsend, 1916a: 627. Type species: Panzeria penitalis Coquillett, 1897, by original designation.

penitalis (Coquillett, 1897).– Wisconsin to Massachusetts, south to Kansas and Georgia (S&A, 1965), Alberta, Ontario (CNC).
– Panzeria penitalis Coquillett, 1897: 89. Type data: holotype male (USNM). Type locality: USA, Missouri (St. Louis according to Townsend, 1939a: 299, though not mentioned by Coquillett in original description).
Hosts from Arnaud (1978: 454), as Pyraustomyia penitalis (Coquillett)*
